Unsurprisingly, 81% of real estate professionals said that their buyers viewed updated kitchens and bathrooms as vital components of a home.

Everyone knows an open floor plans are in demand these days, but did you know that 59% of real estate professionals polled said that it was one of the most important features for buyers these days? If you really want to commit to this ideology, perhaps you’ll consider taking out a non-essential wall or even removing a kitchen island, but it’s probably best to consult with an expert before doing anything drastic.

We’ve all heard the key to real estate value: “Location, location, location.” But why is location so important? Part of it, in many areas, is the value of being able to walk to the center of town, to great restaurants and entertainment, and more. Whether you switch over to a residential solar system, introduce artificial turf to save water, or simply install energy-efficient lightbulbs throughout the house, a move toward energy efficiency will have a positive effect on your home while you live there and when you’re ready to sell. 20% of real estate professionals said they thought buyers saw energy efficiency as a very important feature.
